Highlights of a great evening with London.JS
The London.js community gathered for another fantastic meetup and it was an evening to remember! Held here at Rightmove, the event brought together JavaScript enthusiasts from across the city for an evening of learning, sharing, and connecting.

We partnered with Granola, who kindly sponsored our dinners with fantastic salads from the Salad Project.
James McLeod kicked off the evening by sharing great insights about the London.js community and how they’ve grown. He then gave us the program for the evening. I was honoured to introduce Rightmove and present our first speaker.

The Talks
Tay Bencardino, Software Engineer at Rightmove, kept us engaged with a talk on “the 5 React Testing Library best practices you need to know”. Tay’s deep dive into these best practices provided the audience with valuable insights and practical takeaways. The energy and enthusiasm were palpable, and the quiz session that followed was filled with laughter.
Jim Fisher, Founding Engineer at Granola, was our second speaker. “Evolving your product through natural selection” was the title of his intriguing talk, where we discovered strategies to help a brand-new product evolve to meet user needs and stay ahead in the market.
Luke Barrow, Founder of Two Pints Deep, gave us an impactful talk on “Mental Health: From Awareness to Action”, where our speaker shared his personal journey of battling mental health challenges. We gained insights into the importance of mental health awareness and learned practical steps to take action. This talk was aimed to inspire and equip you with the tools to support yourself and others in navigating mental health struggles.

Networking and Community
One of the standout aspects of a London.js meetup is the sense of community. Throughout the evening, there were ample opportunities for networking, and it was great to see both new faces and familiar ones. Conversations ranged from technical discussions to career advice, and it was clear that everyone was there to support and learn from each other.
